Virgin Voyage Scarlet Lady: Timings as luxury cruise liner departs Portsmouth for New York City



The largest ship to ever arrive in Portsmouth will leave for New York on Friday evening (August 3).

The luxury cruise liner Scarlet Lady arrived in Portsmouth on June 21 for a summer evening and was greeted by crowds.

The 277-meter cruise ship sailed to Portsmouth around 9 a.m. before docking at Portsmouth International Port.

At 110,000 tonnes, the ship is the largest to ever visit the city of Hampshire, even eclipsing HMS Queen Elizabeth.

After spending just over a month based in Portsmouth and making several trips to England at reduced capacity, Virgin Voyage‘s Scarlet Lady will leave Portsmouth for New York on Friday evening.

Speaking to social media, Virgin Voyages thanked Portsmouth for their hospitality and said they looked forward to next year when Valiant Lady visits the city.

The Virgin Voyages team said: “Ahoy Portsmouth.

“For a month, you have welcomed us into your home and you will always have a place in our hearts. We couldn’t be more grateful for your support as we sailed for the first time.

“As Scarlet Lady says bon voyage after a brilliant summer party season, we look forward to seeing you next year when our second ship, Valiant Lady, debuts from here. She also spins the heads, and there’s nowhere else we’d rather start it. “

The ship is expected to depart at 7 p.m. tonight, with the Portsmouth International Port website indicating that this is its departure time for New York.

Stopping at the Big Apple in September, The Scarlet Lady will host a series of premium and limited events including dining experiences, a poolside party, and special performances.
