Valiant Lady: Virgin Voyages launches new luxury cruise ship to make maiden voyage from Portsmouth

The Valiant Lady, the second of four “female ships” planned by Virgin Voyages, will depart from the dock in March.

She will travel to Zeebrugge for a three-night trip.

Speaking of the launch, Sir Richard Branson said: “Virgin Voyages has been a dream in the making since my 20s and today is a momentous day for the launch of our second lady, Valiant Lady.

“It’s exciting to be able to celebrate our continued growth as a brand on a mission to travel like no other.

“In our five decades in business, Virgin has always sought to offer its customers something special, and Virgin Voyages has worked tirelessly to achieve this.”

Valiant Lady is the sister ship to Virgin Voyages’ other luxury cruise liner, Scarlet Lady.

The cruise liner boasts an impressive 1,330 staterooms and 78 “Rock Star” quarters, as well as two suites with their own decks and private hot tubs.

Staterooms onboard have a new elevated design, with 93% offering picturesque ocean views and 86% including a balcony.

The Valiant Lady will be moored in Portsmouth throughout the summer.

After its maiden voyage, it will make a round trip to Spain and Portugal, between May 2 and 12.

She will stop in Lisbon, Gibraltar, Malaga and Barcelona, ​​among others.

Between May and October, the liner will cross the Mediterranean and explore other parts of southern Spain.

Before embarking on the tour, Valiant Lady will be presented at the London International Cruise Terminal (Tilbury) and in Liverpool.

Virgin Voyages has seen a 70% increase in bookings since December as the UK eased travel restrictions.

Speaking about the arrival of Valiant Lady in the UK, Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages, said: “Following the success of our first female ship, Scarlet Lady, we are delighted to launch Valiant Lady in the UK in March. and start our European Tour.

“We will introduce our new lady to Tilbury and Liverpool, where fans are invited to say hello before launching our bookable European crossings from Portsmouth in March and our new home port of Barcelona in May.
