Virgin has confirmed when its second cruise ship will finally arrive in Portsmouth this year.
Valiant Lady is the sister ship to Scarlet Lady, the massive 110,000 tonne liner which first visited the Hampshire town in June last year.
Scarlet Lady has become the largest ship ever to berth at Portsmouth International Harbour, eclipsing Royal Navy vessels including HMS Queen Elizabeth.

HampshireLive previously announced that Virgin’s newest cruise ship, Valiant Lady, would debut in Portsmouth in spring 2022.
Now details have finally been shared on when she will first grace Hampshire with her presence.
Scarlet Lady spent over a month in Portsmouth last summer, making a number of crossings around England at reduced capacity.
Unfortunately, the impressive vessel will now leave its home port of Miami, meaning future visits to Portsmouth are unlikely.
However, the void will be filled by the Valiant Lady, an equally impressive vessel which will arrive in Portsmouth for the first time on March 3 for a technical voyage.
Similar to the Scarlet Lady, the Valiant Lady will make a number of trips from Portsmouth this year between March 18 and May 14.
After his stay in Portsmouth, he will return to his home port of Barcelona to sail the Mediterranean this summer.
Here are some of the itineraries offered on Virgin Voyages’ second ship:
-
Coast of the Canary Islands, Spain and Portugal – an 11-night trip departing from Portsmouth with stops in La Coruña, Funchal, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lisbon.
-
Extended weekend in Zeebrugge – a three-night cruise from Portsmouth to Zeebrugge (Bruges), with time to explore the historic seaside town.
-
Late nights in Portugal and Spain – a 12-night one-way sailing from Portsmouth to Valiant Lady’s home port of Barcelona, stopping at La Coruña, Lisbon, Cadiz, Gibraltar, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca en route.
