A stunning new cruise shop, fitted with over 1,000 cabins, was spotted off Southend this morning.

The Valiant Lady is part of the Virgin Voyages fleet and is making its first UK tour.

Echo Camera Club member Graham Mee captured the moment the ship cruised along the River Thames earlier today, with the iconic Southend Pier in the center of the photo.

The ship is heading to Tilbury as part of a tour of the country which also includes a trip to Liverpool.

Her first major voyage will be in March and will see her sail from Portsmouth to Barcelona – which will be her main residence.

She will travel around the Mediterranean and visit popular tourist sites such as Mallorca and Ibiza.

The Valiant Lady has an impressive 1,330 staterooms and two luxury suites with their own decks and private hot tubs.

Most cabins have their own balcony and sea view.

Speaking to the Virgin Voyages website last month, company CEO Tom McAlpin said: “Following the success of our first female ship, Scarlet Lady, we are delighted to launch Valiant Lady in the UK in March and start our European tour.

“The lifting of UK travel restrictions has already shown promising signs with a 70% increase in bookings since December – and we look forward to welcoming sailors on board.”
