TUI launches a second river cruise ship with the festive Gui & Rhine trip


The UK’s largest tour operator has launched its second river cruise ship ahead of a busy holiday schedule.

TUI Skyla was officially named before embarking on her first route, Gui & Rhine.

The trip will stop at German cities such as Cologne, Düsseldorf and Koblenz, where guests will get into the festive spirit while visiting renowned Christmas markets.

To celebrate the launch of TUI Skyla, a winter wonderland-themed upper deck was created, complete with igloo-style capsules, a live choir, festive treats including hot chocolate and mulled wine.

Chris Hackney, Managing Director of TUI UK cruise said: “We are delighted to welcome the second ship in the TUI River Cruises fleet on our first festive cruise of the year.

“Since going on sale, we have seen continued growth in demand for TUI Skyla routes on the Danube, with Danube Treasures being the top seller.

“The feedback we have received from guests sailing on TUI Maya, which launched in August, has been incredible, so we are excited to offer even more to our guests and look forward to completing the fleet with TUI Isla in the spring. next. ”

Winter and Christmas cruises continue to be extremely popular with high-demand customers.

Bookings for solo travelers have also increased and to meet demand TUI River Cruises has increased its supply of solo cabins during the Christmas period by making all double cabins available on all Christmas sailings.

In addition to Gui & Rhine, guests can get into the festive spirit on the Yuletide Wonders route from the date or celebrate Christmas or see the New Year on any of the Christmas and New Year routes, by sailing Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
