Fred Olsen’s new flagship, the Bolette, embarks on its maiden voyage from Southampton, marking the start of an inaugural season of sailing from the city.

By August 2022, Bolette will offer 26 crossings from Southampton, including opportunities to see the Northern Lights in Norway and the Geminid meteor shower in the Canary Islands.
The ship will sail to Antwerp and Amsterdam during Bolette’s five-night City Break in the Netherlands and Belgium tonight (November 2), with future destinations such as the Amalfi Coast, Norwegian fjords, European cities and the Iceland. The durations vary from four to 19 nights.
Martin Lister, Head of Destination Experience and Route Planning, said: âBolette’s inaugural program from Southampton was hand-crafted to provide passengers on board with truly special opportunities. Whether it’s searching for the phenomenal Northern Lights, learning about the history of the Balkan regions, or sailing deep into the Norwegian fjords to admire their beauty straight from the ship.
âWe have also scheduled a number of our cruises to coincide with special events ashore, for example our stopover in Amsterdam in April will allow customers to enjoy the famous Floriade Expo, and we will visit Monaco in time for the Grand Prix of May.
âGuests who join us in the Canary Islands in early December will also have the chance to witness the Geminid meteor shower during their cruise.
