A zero-emission electric speedboat dubbed the ‘Tesla Cybertruck’ of the water has made its first test trip.
The Arc One outboard was tested on Lake Arrowhead in California earlier this year and will be ready to ship orders later in 2022.
The 24ft long vessel has a massive 220kWh battery that is three times larger than a Tesla Model Y – with its sleek design helping it cut through water.
To build the craft, the company raised $30 million from a group of top investors including Will Smith, Kevin Durant and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The fast vessel offers over 500 hp and climbed to over 35 knots (40 mph) in testing. A sleek, lightweight aluminum shell also provides efficiency and sporty handling.
The large battery also allows it to handle around five hours on the water at a time – perfect for a day out. It can accommodate up to 12 people and offers 60 cubic feet of storage space.
The Arc One also has built-in smart technology that can perform over-the-air software updates, just like a Tesla.
The first Arc Ones are due to arrive this summer but will cost you $300,000 (£230,000). You can reserve one for a more reasonable deposit of $1,000 (£770).
