The new Disney Wish cruise ship has something for everyone, not just the kids

PORT CANAVERAL, Florida. – Disney Cruise Line is preparing for the maiden voyage of its newest ship, the Disney Wish.

The ship will depart from Port Canaveral in July and will offer families a variety of new experiences to see and do on three- and four-night cruises.

Aboard the ship, there are plenty of activities for adults, including new world-class restaurants, unique bars and a spa offering specialty treatments.

During the ship‘s christening cruise, a number of media and guests were invited to check out some of the new features.

For starters, Disney Wish will feature dining options featuring incredible dishes created by award-winning chefs, as well as beautiful decor.

“When it comes to adult meals, we really wanted to give Disney Wish adults the ability to have a little more storytelling in an elevated way,” said Laura Cabo, Disney Portfolio Creative Executive.

On deck 12 at the rear of the ship, guests will find The Rose, Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté.

All three dining experiences are inspired by Disney’s hit movie “Beauty and the Beast.” Le Rose is a chic lounge at the entrance of Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté.

Inspired by the fateful flower at the heart of the story, The Rose will be an idyllic setting for a pre-dinner aperitif or an after-dinner cocktail, the leaders said.

The intimate bedroom features red and rich colors in dark wood. The ceiling has a rose-inspired shape, and the artwork behind the bar is covered in rose pedals, which looks great when lit up at night.

At Palo Steakhouse, Imagineers was inspired by Cogsworth in “Beauty and the Beast.” The steakhouse, which is found on other Disney ships, offers a selection of wines, pasta dishes, seafood, and a 32-ounce steak called “The Cowboy.”

Just around the corner is Enchanté, a dazzling restaurant offering a gourmet menu curated by three-star Michelin chef Arnaud Lallement of L’Assiette Champenoise.

The romantic and intimate venue showcases dazzling candlelight and the lavish hospitality of the film’s candelabra butler, Lumiere. When guests first enter, they are greeted by a shimmering chandelier, light fixtures and illuminations bringing to life the two intimate dining rooms and a 10-seat private dining room.

“As you walk in, you’ll see the beautiful blue carpet, the blue of which is from Belle’s dress, and all the golds and lightness are from Lumiere,” Cabo described. “It’s a really amazing setting and I think our guests are going to be captivated.”

The menu features premium produce and seasonal ingredients sourced from around the world to create an exceptional set of international dishes, the company said.

Around other areas of the ship, passengers will find specialty bars that pay homage to Disney stories.

Like all Disney Cruise Line ships, Disney Wish offers a collection of casual and sophisticated adult-only bars and lounges each evening. For the first time, these locations are spread across the ship’s other main gathering spots for a more flexible and seamless experience, allowing guests, especially parents, to have more opportunities to spend time together throughout along their cruise, the company said.

Some of these bars include Princess and the Frog-inspired “The Bayou,” Cinderella’s “Nightingale’s,” “Keg & Compass,” and the highly immersive “Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge.”

This bar experience is adults-only every night, offering interactive tasting experiences and signature drinks inspired by a galaxy far, far away. The venue’s sleek interior design and metallic details evoke a lavish starcruiser similar to Dryden Vos’ ship in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

“I personally call her the Mona Lisa of Disney Wish. Why? Because everyone will want to come here,” said Salah Chetbi, catering manager. “I hope the guests take home the script, L experience that we emerge enters the world of Star Wars.”

After dinner and a few drinks, adults relax in the ship’s Senses Spa.

For the first time aboard a Disney ship, Senses Spa offers a dedicated outdoor relaxation area that includes hot tubs, plush lounge chairs, and even yoga sessions.

In the spa’s Rainforest Room, guests will experience the fleet’s first ice salon, allowing guests to combine thermal therapies, promoting both physical well-being and tranquility.

It also includes guest-favorite features such as heated ergonomic lounge chairs, sensory spa showers, and sauna, steam, and dry rooms.

“There are so many spaces for adults on board the ship, but this is the one where you can come and relax and let us take care of you. Wellbeing does wonders as we like to say,” said said Gary LaTouche, Director of Hotel Operations and Retail.

Senses Spa also offers private treatment rooms and lavish spa villas for couples. In addition to a menu of massages, facials, and acupuncture, guests can choose from specialized treatments tailored to their needs, such as pain management and sleep enhancement.

Adjacent to the spa is the reimagined Senses Fitness Center which offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment including a main room with exercise equipment, a dedicated bike studio, and an aerobics room.

The Disney Wish will make its maiden voyage on July 14, followed by a three- and four-night cruise season in Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
