Emerald Cruises’ first ocean-going yacht, the Emerald Azzurra, has left the Jordanian city of Aqaba for her maiden voyage.

The eight-day maiden voyage, which departed last weekend, carries 100 guests in 50 cabins and suites on an itinerary titled Best of the Red Sea.

According to a press release, guests will stop in the Egyptian resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, as well as Eilat in Israel, before returning to Aqaba for an included guided tour of World Heritage-listed Petra. of UNESCO.

The Azzurra’s launch took two years to complete and “marks a milestone as the cruise line’s first ocean-going vessel for small ships,” the cruise line said.

The Azzurra offers modern suites and cabins, 88% of which have balconies. The yacht also has a large infinity pool, a spa with infrared sauna, a gym and a marina platform, with SEABOBs, paddleboards and snorkeling equipment available to guests. clients.

A fleet of Gocycle e-bikes are also available on board, which are “ideal for trips to local villages and active explorations”, according to Emerald.

The Emerald Azzurra will be officially welcomed into the brand’s fleet with a christening in Venice before the ship‘s repositioning to the Mediterranean and Adriatic coastal waters for the 2022 summer season. The Azzurra will be joined by sister yacht, the ‘Emerald Sakara, in February 2023, with new itineraries for the brand that include the Seychelles.

According to the press release, in its programs, the Azzurra will sail in the warm waters of the Mediterranean, the Adriatic, the Black Sea and the Red Sea. The Sakara will be the brand’s second superyacht and will add the Seychelles to the lineup of destinations when it launches in 2023.
