Ambassador Cruise Line – the first British cruise line to launch in the UK in over a decade – will christen its first ship, Ambience, today ahead of its maiden voyage from the Port of Tilbury.

With the easing of Covid travel restrictions, the ambassador said there was a great pent-up desire from consumers to resume cruise vacations.

It has already signaled its confidence in the growth potential by announcing the purchase of its second vessel, christened Ambition, entering service in 2023.

Ambassador Cruise Lines is targeting the 50+ premium cruise market with flightless vacations for UK customers, offering cruises to Europe, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Arctic.

He also focuses on the growing number of solo travelers who he says are currently underserved by the travel industry, with 89 of his 798 cabins dedicated to solo cruisers.

And the company, which launched cruise lines‘ first anti-whaling campaign, in partnership with ORCA, will host ocean advocates on 11 sailings, encourage guests not to consume whale meat and not visit oceanariums in destination ports as part of their destination. Program of experiments.

Ambience has an average capacity of 1,400 guests and with a neat layout offers a feeling of space while maintaining a sense of privacy.

The cruise line will create more than 100 job opportunities in the UK, including 40 ashore. On top of that, we will be appointing a strong and diverse team of 650 people aboard the first ship, Ambience.

Its headquarters are in Purfleet.

With a multi-million pound investment and funds managed by Njord Partners LLP, London, the company is fully equity funded with no financial debt – something unique in the cruise industry.

Compared to most established cruise lines, Ambassador’s guest deposits are not used to fund the operation. Passenger deposits and payments for their cruises are paid into a fully compliant, independently managed trust account and the funds are not released until the cruise departs.

Likewise, additional insurance coverage is in place to financially protect any monies paid directly to Ambassador or through travel agents, in the event a cruise is forced to cancel. These additional warranties are designed to provide consumers with greater peace of mind, beyond the existing protections enshrined in UK law.
