After a two-year absence from City Dock, a welcome sign of spring is back in Annapolis: the Spring Sailboat Show, an in-water boat show that prepares sailors for the warm-weather sailing season.

The show runs from April 29 to May 1 and showcases new and used boats including catamarans, monohulls, racing boats, family cruisers, daysailers and inflatables. You can board the impressive range of sailboats, meet yacht clubs and charter companies, buy gear and equipment, and network with other sailing enthusiasts.

As with the Bay Bridge Boat Show in Annapolis the previous week, Chesapeake Bay Media and our sister company, the Annapolis School of Seamanship (ASOS), will be offering free seminars. Our bay experts and professional captains from ASOS offer visitors hands-on talks on stress-free mooring, getting your captain’s license, weekends on the water – cruising to the towns of the upper bay and medium, lessons from sailors and how to anchor your boat.

The show also offers beginner sailing lessons, both in the classroom and on the water, taught by instructors from the American Sailing Association. And Cruisers University offers an academic program for Bluewater sailors to prepare them to live aboard a boat and sail with confidence. Topics include marine weather forecasting, navigation, diesel engine maintenance, heavy weather sailing and budgeting.

Once you’ve done your homework, there’s plenty of fun and relaxation at both the LaVictoire VIP Experience and the Breakthru Tasting Tent, with daily wine and spirits tastings.

Tickets for the Sailboat Show are $20 and children 12 and under are free. There will be no on-site box office, so guests are encouraged to purchase tickets online in advance at AnnapolisBoatShows.com.
