Silversea Cruises has launched a new 71-day grand voyage to Central and South America aboard its latest ship, the Silver Nova.
According to a press release, the itinerary departs on January 4, 2024, visiting 38 destinations in 18 countries, aboard the soon-to-be-launched Silver Nova.
For the first time, and for all subsequent Grand Voyages in the fleet, Grand Voyage South America 2024 will include round-trip Business Class flights (for passengers from select countries).
According to the press release, Silversea’s 2024 Grand Voyage South America will circumnavigate Latin America, before taking guests deep inland along the meandering Amazon River to Manaus.
Customers will be able to take advantage of a first stopover in Ilhabela (Brazil), explore Ushuaia at the southern tip of South America, as well as the glaciers and fjords of the continent.
The Silver Nova will call at Lima, Buenos Aires and Montevideo, with an extended stopover in Rio de Janeiro – where guests can enjoy the famous Carnival with three nights.
Prior to arriving in Fort Lauderdale on March 15, 2024, travelers will experience calls to eastern destinations: Spanish Town, Castries and Bequia. Passengers will also experience the region’s cuisine – on board and ashore – through Silversea’s SALT programme.
Silversea said the Silver Nova will be the first luxury hybrid cruise ship to be zero local emissions in port, with advanced hybrid technology including fuel cells.
“Organized by our destination experts, our new 2024 Grand Voyage to South America – hosted on board the pioneering Silver Nova – will connect the continent’s most rewarding experiences for our well-traveled guests,” said Barbara Muckermann, Director commercial of Silversea Cruises. “With the inclusion of business class flights, passengers traveling on Grand Voyage South America 2024, and all future Grand Voyages with Silversea, will travel in exceptional comfort. From three nights to celebrate the famous carnival in Rio de Janeiro to an exclusive evening at the magnificent Manaus Opera House in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, the range of experiences offered with this one-of-a-kind trip is unique.
Silversea events for the Grand Voyage South America 2024 include a traditional folk show, followed by a carnival party as it transitions from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean; a personalized and private tour of Callao Monumental in Peru, ending with authentic locally prepared cuisine and cocktails with a backdrop of fiesta salsa; three days of access to the Rio de Janeiro Carnival with “the best seats”; a performance at the Manaus Opera; and an evening with Bridgetown polo players including an afternoon of “adrenaline sport” followed by an authentic dinner prepared by a Bajan master chef and enjoyed in the company of the island’s polo elite.
