Oceania Cruises’ 180-day voyage sells out in 30 minutes

Oceania Cruises, the world leader in culinary and destination-based cruises, announced that the “2024 Around the World in 180 Days” voyage aboard Insignia sold out within 30 minutes of opening for sale on March 2.

Alongside global cruising, the company also launched four new 72- to 82-day Grand Voyages in the Asia-Pacific region aboard Regatta, Nautica and Riviera. The sold-out sale of the six-month global cruise and the enthusiastic response to the four Asia-Pacific voyages resulted in a new one-day booking record that surpassed the previous record set in September 2021 by almost 12%.

“The response to our 2024 World Cruise and new major voyages clearly illustrates the resilience, enthusiasm and passion that drives our guests to travel the world,” said Howard Sherman, President and CEO of Oceania Cruises.

“The fervent demand for these globetrotting experiences is also a testament to our officers and crew and travel partners who have been strong advocates for the return of world travel,” he added.

While world cruises typically attract legions of loyal repeat customers, Oceania Cruises’ 2024 World Cruise saw nearly half of all bookings come from new customers, and 42% of customers sailing on the current 2022 round the world . postponed travel for the 2024 trip. This reinforces a booking trend the brand has seen emerge steadily over the past year, with some booking periods and promotions seeing new customer booking levels of over 50%. Additionally, 18% of 2024 global cruise passengers have chosen to extend their voyage to a total of 196 days.

The line has also seen exceptional demand for its 2023 collection of trips to Europe and North America with bookings of larger, longer trips that span weeks or months, going from strength to strength. To meet demand from consumers and travel advisors who book further afield, the line will open a full year of travel spanning October 2023 through December 2024 on May 4. The line also noted the historically strong response from travel advisers who provided the majority of bookings.
