Nautilus Labs, the technology company advancing maritime commerce efficiency through artificial intelligence with hubs in New York, Singapore, Paris and London, today announced enhancements to its flagship collaborative solution “Voyage Optimization to now include machine learning-based route recommendations to drive decarbonization while maximizing business returns.

Unlike others, Nautilus’ route optimization considers a client’s business objectives in addition to the weather forecast and capitalizes on opportunities created by the weather to generate the best route for the desired business outcome. AI-powered running recommendations are sent daily and updated as dynamic conditions change during a trip. Optimizing Nautilus travel reduces fuel consumption, maximizes profits, and can ultimately improve an owner’s CII rating. Nautilus Labs uses proprietary machine learning models custom-designed for each vessel, tailored to its hull geometry, propeller configuration and historical performance trends. These patterns are combined with weather data, trip information, variable market factors, ChartWorld’s route network database and optimum speed to produce a dynamically optimized route recommendation over the course of a trip. ‘a travel.

“It’s crucial to consider business factors and then constantly optimize a port-to-port route in real time,” said Matt Heider, CEO of Nautilus Labs. “By leveraging our sophisticated machine learning models with unparalleled accuracy, our platform can produce optimal route and speed recommendations based on our customers’ preferences and predicted environmental factors. We are proud to partner with our customers on their journey to decarbonization and improved energy efficiency while maximizing economic returns. »

Historically, Nautilus Voyage Optimization customers received optimal speed instructions while traveling for a predefined route to increase sustainability and profitability. The recent addition of Route Optimization also allows customers to receive AI-generated recommended routes directly through the Nautilus platform. By resolving both speed and route interdependently within the business context of a trip, operators can be confident that they are achieving fully optimized trips.
