It might seem a little brash to think of any ship as the Cybertruck of the High Seas, but this LA startup’s new electric speedboat is channeling the angular glory of Elon Musk’s precious polygonal pickup.

Written by a team of former rocket engineers at Arc Boats Co., the 24-footer, known simply as the Arc One, takes inspiration from aerospace design and features the futuristic tech of a Tesla with an electric powertrain. This means that the boat can cross the ocean without noise or emissions for hours.

Forged from lightweight aluminum, the silver pocket rocket sports a sleek hull, bespoke dual batteries and an “extremely powerful motor,” which Arc says translates into “unprecedented stability, range and speed. “. In fact, the company has called the Arc One “the fastest boat in its class.”

“We wanted the Limited Edition Arc One to set the stage for our future mainstream watersport boats while playing in a class of its own,” said CEO Mitch Lee. Robb Report.

The beating heart is the built-in 200 kWh battery that has been custom designed to provide tight control over the boat’s center of gravity for better performance. It powers the quiet motor that produces a brave 475 horsepower to give the Arc One a top speed of 35 mph.

As for range, you’ll have enough juice for a full day on the water with no recharging needed, according to Arc. That’s about five hours of run time according to the fine print.

On board, the Arc One can accommodate up to 10 people and offers 60 cubic feet of storage space. Arc says seafarers can expect “a fast, smooth, wake ride.”

Much like its four-wheeled twin, the Arc One comes equipped with built-in smart technology for a smooth driving experience and can also perform live updates for solid durability.

The lowered transom and J-bench layout are a nod to the sports market, while the expansive seating area and bow stowage show the extra space offered by the fully integrated battery design. Lee adds. “And the 15-inch touchscreen shows the defining characteristic of the boat: the software. “

The kicker is the cost: The Arc One will set you back $ 300,000. That’s almost 10 times the price of the Cybertruck which starts at $ 39,900. If this big chunk of change isn’t a deterrent, you can Reserve your own Arc One with a deposit of $ 1,000.

The boat is expected to be released at the end of the year and will beat the Cybertruck in the market by a few months. (The truck is due for delivery in late 2022.) Maybe we should start calling Elon the Arc One’s pickup off the roads.
