A new Disney Cruise Line cruise ship float will make its maiden voyage in New York City as part of Macy’s 95th Thanksgiving Parade on November 25. According to a press release, the “ship” was named “Magic Meets the Sea” “and is inspired by the Disney Wish, which sets sail in the summer of 2022.

“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade is a treasured tradition at the heart of family vacation celebrations,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line. “We are honored to partner with Macy’s for this renowned event and to build on the shared legacy of creating magical memories year after year. Much like Disney’s wish, our float will be a celebration of Disney’s enchanting storytelling, beloved characters and wishes come true. “

During its maiden parade voyage, the float will feature 15 Disney characters who represent the stories and experiences of Disney Wish – including Captain Minnie Mouse who adorns the bow of the ship, Princess Tiana who is part of an adventure interactive on board the ship, Aladdin and Jasmine whose story has been reinvented in an onboard show, and Cinderella whose bronze statue will be held in the Great Hall.

Showcasing the “grandeur” of a Disney Cruise Line ship, the new float will feature design elements including a Mickey Mouse-inspired color scheme, towering red funnels and a filigree pattern along the hull, a said Disney.

“The entire Macy’s Parade team is thrilled to welcome Disney Cruise Line to this year’s exceptional lineup,” said Jordan Dabby, producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “This magic float will enchant audiences of millions in New York City and across the country on television with Disney’s hallmark of imagination and innovation.”

Macy’s 95th Annual Thanksgiving Parade will air nationwide on November 25 from 9 a.m. to noon in all time zones.
