Crystal Cruises unveiled its 2022 Caribbean idylls and Mediterranean masterpieces trip – a 132-night itinerary on the Crystal Serenity from Miami to Los Angeles.

The voyage begins January 17, 2022, calls at 82 ports in 32 countries and includes 11 overnight stays in destinations such as Istanbul, Monte Carlo, Naples and Cannes, as well as the island enclaves of St. Barts, Madeira, the Canary Islands and others. It ends on May 29, 2022.

According to Crystal, this new “Grand Voyage” replaces the line’s 2022 global cruise, which was canceled as many countries on the original itinerary remain uncertain about their ability to accommodate guests at the time.

“Our clients are extremely seasoned travelers who seek discovery of the world, cultural immersion and the attraction of exotic global destinations,” said Jack Anderson, President of Crystal. “This expansive Grand Voyage 2022 has been expertly designed to present rare stopovers and unique experiences that offer our guests a new twist on even the most beloved destinations while inviting them to enjoy the indulgences of Michelin-level cuisine, d personalized service, unparalleled space and luxurious all-inclusive amenities and comforts that remain hallmarks of the Crystal experience.

Anderson said Crystal knows her customers, “especially our long-haul customers”, view the cruise line as their “home away from home.”

“Captain Birger Vorland and his crew have been delighted to welcome these guests to their home in Crystal since they said goodbye to World Cruise guests in Perth last year,” said Anderson.

According to a press release, the 132-night Grand Voyage 2022 itinerary was designed for “travelers with a pent-up desire for a longer cruise vacation.” the cruise line said. Top destinations include the Caribbean, Morocco, the French Riviera, the Amalfi Coast, the Greek Islands, the Black Sea, the Holy Land and more. Crystal said the options for creating custom combinations for regional exploration are “virtually endless.”

Reservations for the Grand Voyage 2022 will be open to customers who have booked the World Cruise 2022 for a 10-day booking window from September 14 to 23, and to the public on September 24, 2021.

The trip also totals 45 islands, including 19 stops in the Caribbean, and an “immersive exploration” of the Canary Islands with stops in six of the seven main islands and an overnight stop in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Other island explorations include the Cape Verde Islands, Azores, Madeira, Gibraltar, Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta, Crete, Cyprus, Greek Islands, and Bermuda.

Several uncrowded stopovers are also part of the itinerary. They include the San Blas Islands, Panama; Sainte-Croix, USVI; Ile des Saints, Guadeloupe; Cagliari, Sardinia; Praia and Santo Antão, Cape Verde Islands; Gaeta, Italy; Syracuse, Sicily and more.

Port-rich transatlantic crossings, numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites, transit through the Panama Canal, and explorations of ancient empires, art, architecture and natural wonders complete this journey of 132 nights, Crystal said.

When the Crystal Serenity embarks on the 2022 Grand Voyage, all guests (who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine) must be fully immunized, in accordance with the requirements of the company’s Crystal Clean + protocols, established in response to COVID-19. Passengers 12 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days prior to departure for all 2022 ocean trips, including passengers boarding Miami.

One hundred percent of Crystal’s officers and crew across the fleet will continue to be vaccinated in 2022 as a condition of employment, Crystal said.
