Conor McGregor was seen on a luxury jet ski after he was arrested for alleged dangerous driving in his Bentley.
The Irish star claimed he was on his way to the gym when he was stopped by police on Dublin’s M50 by members of An Garda Siochana. the Irish police. He was driving his £140,000 Bentley supercar which was briefly impounded before later being returned.
McGregor has now posted footage for fans on social media of him riding a Sea-Doo GTX jet ski while flexing his ripped physique as he takes advantage of the warm coastal weather. The UFC star has previously been seen on the waves off Dun Laoghaire, Dublin.
He was arrested earlier this week after the incident and taken to Lucan Garda police station. The 33-year-old was later charged before being released on bail with his supercar returned after being briefly taken away. He will now face a court date at Blanchardstown District Court next month, with any potential convictions potentially carrying a six-month sentence and a €5,000 fine if given the maximum sentence.
Footage emerged of McGregor being followed by police before he later claimed he was heading to the gymnasium as his recovery continued.
This matched a statement from a spokesperson for McGregor who said, “Mr. McGregor was on his way to the gym when he was pulled over by Gardai for alleged traffic violations. He passed drug and alcohol tests at the station.”
McGregor also took to Instagram shortly after the incident, posting an image of a cup of tea and a muffin with the caption, “Tea always helps…muffins too,” alongside a laughing emoji.
A statement from Garda confirmed the arrest, explaining: “Gardaí arrested a man in his 30s in connection with a dangerous driving incident in the Palmerstown area last night, Tuesday March 22, 2022. The man was taken to Lucan Garda station where he was later charged, he was released pending his appearance in Blanchardstown District Court at a later date.
The Irishman is preparing to return to the UFC after breaking his leg last July in the loss to Dustin Poirier. He remains one of the promotion’s main superstars and has been challenged in several fights, including a title shot at 155 pounds against champion Charles Oliveira.
More recently, McGregor called for a shot at welterweight champion Kamaru Usman after suggesting a move back to 170lbs seems more likely after previously claiming he currently weighs 190lbs. Whichever option McGregor chooses to take later this year, he’s eyeing a return to winning ways after losing three of his last four fights.
