“I have long been in love with the county of Cornwall in the South West of England, and I had the chance to explore the island of Lundy with my father, a professional diver. It is a wild and wonderful place where few people have the opportunity to go, and even cars are prohibited. The opportunity for passengers on this expedition will therefore be truly special,” commented Dewing.
“Miranda will be a fantastic addition to this trip, not only because of her diving credentials, but as Chairperson of the RSPB she is also incredibly passionate about the amazing bird and sea life that we are sure to see. .”
“I love travel and adventure and nowhere better than on our own coastline, without the need to fly overseas,” Krestovnikoff commented.
“Here in the UK we have some of the best coastal and marine wildlife in the world, with over 20 species of cetaceans and places where you can snorkel and dive with gray seals and blue sharks. For those who prefer to keep their feet dry, the colonies of seabirds around our shores are magnificent, with opportunities to get close to some of the largest colonies of puffins, Manx shearwaters and gannets.
I’ve always wanted to embark on a journey that takes in all my favorite parts of the British coast and this expedition does just that.
Aurora Expeditions has been a pioneer in exploration for over 30 years, with discovery and innovation firmly embedded in the company’s DNA. The Jewels of the Coastal UK is just one of many exciting new voyages recently announced by Aurora, which will also launch its second purpose-built expedition vessel, the Sylvia Earle, end of 2022.
