On the morning of December 13, 2021, AIDAnova arrived for the first time in the port of Hamburg. Upon arrival, the crew and ship sent a loving message of light âWe ⤠HHâ to the people of Hamburg along the Elbe.
Since arriving in the winter Hanseatic city, the final preparations have been made for the reception of the first guests and the departure of the first cruise tomorrow, Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
AIDAnova will then already be the 10th AIDA cruise ship to be launched again this year. The world’s first cruise ship to be 100% low-emission liquefied natural gas (LNG) was awarded the German government’s Blue Angel two years ago for its environmentally friendly ship design.
For the next vacation trips, AIDAnova has turned into a winter wonderland: oversized Christmas light installations and festively decorated Christmas trees await to be amazed by guests young and old. The first of two Advent cruises leads from / to Hamburg from December 14 to 19, 2021 to Kristiansand and Oslo. The trip from December 19 to 22, 2021 will stop at Kristiansand. During the first two trips, AIDA’s gastronomic godmother, Andrea Schirmaier-Huber, will be on board, among others. Guests will have the opportunity to create delicious Christmas cookies and chocolates with the famous TV chef. The AIDA Show set will be back on board AIDAnova in time for the holiday season. The singers and dancers will offer magical Christmas moments at the Theater. Blockbuster formats like “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” are also making a comeback. A new participatory event is the âUpgrade Showâ, where guests from two interior cabins each play with packed suitcases for an upgrade to the veranda cabin while the cruise is still underway.
The full festive program is offered on the trip from December 22, 2021 to January 8, 2022 from Hamburg to Gran Canaria. Customers experience the start of the year in Funchal / Madeira. One of the most spectacular fireworks in the world takes place here every year. Festive trips can also be booked in a shorter version from or to Lisbon.
From January to April 2022, AIDAnova will sail to some of the most beautiful islands in the Spanish archipelago: Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. The Canaries are among the classics for anyone who wants to enjoy the sun even in winter.
On board AIDAnova, guests can look forward to 17 restaurants and 23 bars, a double water slide and climbing garden, the Beach Club, the Theatrium with its 360 ° stage, the TV studio and the spacious Body & Soul Organic Spa.
With the extended AIDA health and safety concept, customers can enjoy their vacations relaxed and safe at the same time. All AIDA cruises take place with adjusted passenger capacity. In addition to vaccine protection regulations and additional COVID-19 testing before arrival, comprehensive preventive measures include regular onboard health checks and extensive AHA rules. Comprehensive care is provided 24 hours a day in medical centers, which are notably equipped with the latest COVID-19 testing devices.
