A new cruise ship makes its first call at the port of Southampton

Southampton has welcomed a new cruise ship to its port.

Silversea Cruises’ Silver Moon made a stopover on its journey to Reykjavik.

The ship is the fourth ship to make a maiden call at Southampton This year.

It followed in the footsteps of AIDAcosma, Celebrity Beyond and Enchanted Princess.

The luxury cruise ship can accommodate up to 596 passengers.

It has eight dining venues and a culinary program offering destination-based dining experiences called Sea And Land Taste (SALT).

To encourage the safe return of guests to sailing after the Covid-19 pandemic, all guests and crew should be vaccinated.

This weekend it will be busy, according to Associated British Ports.

There will be five cruise ships arriving on Saturday and four on Sunday.
